DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Christy Skinner was told from a very early age by her grandfather that she has an old soul. It wasn’t until years later, when she entered her professional career, that she understood what that truly meant and how relevant it would become to the type of work she would perform. For the past 17 years, Christy has served as an Executive Director
for various companies in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care.
She enjoyed her first success in the senior industry in a turn around assisted living property directly after college. She increased occupancy from 50 percent to 100 percent and dramatically increased NOI in the process all within her first year as Executive Director. She knew very quickly that she had found her place in the professional world. She was recognized as Executive Director of the Year in that first year.
In the communities that followed, Christy was fortunate enough to experience the same level of success. She is a two-time winner of the President’s Club, Eight time winner of
the Best Retirement Community, recipient of the National Excellence Award for Resident Satisfaction, and was recognized in her local community in a publication on local industry leaders.
17 years later and several accomplishments as an Executive Director under her belt, Christy is honored to assume the role as Director of Operations for Watercrest Senior Living. “When I was presented with the opportunity to join Watercrest and align with their CORE values of SERVANT leadership, I knew I found my professional home. The things
I enjoy most are mentoring our associates to reach their full potential and providing excellent care to our most deserving population, our seniors. Watercrest enables us to raise the bar in the industry to a whole new level, and I am thrilled to be a part of it.”
Christy is a proud graduate of The Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitative Counseling. She resides in Cape Coral, Florida with her wonderful and supportive husband David and three fantastic children Dylan, Madison,
and Ethan. When not at the soccer field with all of the kids, you will find Christy and her family relaxing at the beach or just enjoying time together as a family.
